The War

Dark looked at him. "Then why'd you say shock?" Dark said.

"I meant like, splash him in the face with cold water. That could have killed him."

Florence looked at Joshua and Dark. He noticed that he was on a bed. "What's going on here?"

"And why would I think of that? Shock means electricity. Splash means splash."

"There's a difference between a psychological shock and and electrocuting somebody."

Florence realized he was being ignored. He shrugged.

Dark was incredibly confused.

"Look. Never mind, he's awake now and that's what matters."

Florence still wasn't sure why he was on a bed. He noticed that he had a strange glowing rock with him.

Dark poked him. "Yep. Alive."

"Would you mind explaining what's going on?" Florence asked. He had no idea what they were talking about or why Dark poked him.

"Well there was a lizard thing, and you were not dead." Dark said.

Florence looked at her like she was crazy. Then it came back to him. He remembered being attacked by the Dagannoth that seemed to appear from nowhere. No matter what he tried, he couldn't so much as damage it. The only logically thing to do was flee, but he didn't get far. And then, as he lay on the ground, wounded and bleeding, the last thing he saw before he passed out was a large winged creature attacking the Dagannoth. He looked back at the rock.

DArk shrugged. "He knows." She motioned to Joshua. "Well, he thinks he knows everything."

Joshua was offended. "I never claimed to know everything."

Florence passed the rock to Joshua. "Is that what I think it is?" he asked.

Dark went to get early breakfast. She could still hear the conversation because of tunnels in the walls that allowed Dark to hear everything.

Joshua nodded. "It would seem so."

"But, I thought they didn't exist anymore..."

"Well, they were believed to have died out long ago, but it's possible that they have just remained hidden from humans for a long time."

"And, is it safe for them to reveal themselves now? I mean, they might find out that there are more, and then what?"

"I don't know." Joshua said. "It would be in our best interest to keep them out of this though."

Dark was making an omelet and feigned disinterest.

"So, should we tell the others?" Florence asked.

"No. Definitely not. You know as well as I do that they can't be trusted."

"But what about-"

"No. None of them. I don't care how close you think you are to them."

Florence sighed.

Dark was rather offended but held her tongue.

OOC: He shall pay dearly for that.

OOC: He meant the other Reapers. Still, I suppose Dark wouldn't have known.

IC: "And what do we do if it hatches?"

"I don't know."

"I mean, we can't just leave it here. This isn't a safe place for it. Especially if another Dagannoth shows up."

"I know. I'll figure it out later. For now let's just worry about keeping it hidden."

"Keeping what hidden?" Dark was back with her food.

Joshua showed her the glowing rock that Florence had with him when they found him.

"What kind of egg is it?"

"Dragon."

"Baby dragon?" Dark asked.

"I don't think baby dragons can lay eggs."

"Will it be a baby dragon?" Dark liked baby things.
